Shirley J. Wilcher, M.A., J.D., LHD, CAAP (she/her) is an experienced authority on equal opportunity and inclusion, equity and diversity (IED) policy. She holds B.A. degree from Mount Holyoke College, a Masters degree in Urban Affairs and Policy Analysis from the New School for Social Research and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Universitty.
In 2018 her Alma Mater Mount Holyoke College awarded her the Honorary Doctor of Laws. In 2021, Wilcher joined the Board of Trustees of Mount Holyoke College.
Her credentials include receiving a Certified Affirmative Action Professional (CAAP) certificate from AAAED; a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Maryland; and a Certificate in Labor Arbitration from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, Washington, D.C.
Wilcher serves as Executive Director of the American Association for Access, Equity and Diversity (AAAED), a professional membership organization of equal opportunity and diversity practitioners working in higher education, government and the private sector. She is also President and CEO of the Fund for Leadership, Equity, Access and Diversity (LEAD Fund).
At AAAED, Wilcher co-established the Diversity Management Program and AAAED Webinars, and managed the AAAED Professional Development and Training Institute (PDTI). In 2020, Wilcher established PDTI Virtual, which delivers quality EEO training using an online format. Wilcher is a member of the American Society of Association Executives.
